Winter Hockey is just around the corner, and we’re excited to welcome all new and returning players back on the turf next term! Registrations for the 2026 season are now open.

Age Groups
Year 1–2: Fun Sticks
A fun, skills‑focused introduction to hockey run centrally by Wellington Hockey coaches.
Registrations for Fun Sticks are completed directly through Wellington Hockey (not KJHC).
Year 3–4: Mini Sticks
Teams play 3 v 3 games designed to encourage movement in all directions and plenty of touches on the ball.
Year 5–6: Kiwi Sticks
A 6‑a‑side, third‑field format introducing playing positions and basic positional concepts.
Year 7–8: Kwik Sticks
7‑a‑side, half‑field games focused on building transferable skills, positioning awareness, and tactical understanding.
KJHC Training
Starts: Week of 20 April
Days: Thursdays (Tuesdays may be added if needed)
Venues: Karori, Kelburn, Northland, Wadestown, Newlands, Johnsonville
Game Dates
Term 2: 2 May – 27 June 2026
Term 3: 18 July – 12 September 2026
Game Venues: Saturday mornings at turfs across Wellington, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Porirua, and Kāpiti.
Approximate Saturday Game Times
Year 3–4 Mini Sticks: 10:00 AM, 10:15 AM, 10:30 AM
Year 5–6 Kiwi Sticks: 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM
(Kāpiti-based games at 9:45 AM)
Year 7–8 Kwik Sticks: Mostly 11:00 AM
Earliest start 10:00 AM; Kāpiti games at 10:45 AM or 9:45 AM
Please note: Final times may vary depending on team numbers and turf availability.
2026 Season Fees
Year 3–4 Mini Sticks: $140
Year 5–6 Kiwi Sticks: $155
Year 7–8 Kwik Sticks: $190
