We want to hear from you!We are holding a Competitions Review and are in need of feedback from our community on how we can better deliver hockey to the Wellington region in the future.We have recruited the help of an independent consultant and now need to hear from you! If you are interested in taking part and being heard contact Peter Dale at: peterdale@xtra.co.nz/Feel free to contact any of the Wellington Hockey staff if you have any additional questions.A letter from our third party consultant:Peter Dale Management Services (PDMS) is delighted to have been selected to undertake an independent review of WHA competitions. Peter Dale and Matt Claridge intend to hold a number of focus groups to gain insights that might lead to a competitions system and structure that meets the needs of players, their clubs and schools and interested parties. Key questions will be:• Is the current structure and system fit for purpose?• Does the current structure and system align with Wellington Hockey’s strategic thinking? If not, what changes need to be made?• Does the current format meet the expectations of players, their clubs, their organisations and their supporters?• Does the current format provide a clear pathway to representative honours for all competitive levels?• Is there adequate provision for those who wish to play outside of the formal club system but wish to stay connected to hockey?• What is the best for hockey in the Wellington Region?Focus Groups:P1 WomenP1 MenOther Premier competitionsReserve competitionsMastersJunior clubsCollege hockeyFocus groups will help us to get to the point where we can design surveys that will lead to voice-of-the-player responses by the various groups within WHA’s world. Surveys will follow for each of these areas so that all who wish to contribute, can do so. All surveys will be future focussed rather than a critique of current practices.Want to be part of this review? Great! As far as possible meetings will be at WHA, plus some time spent with Dalefield to ensure all views are included.
